Moving to a new home or office in Delhi NCR involves more than booking a truck. Parking, lift access, packing materials and delivery timing can affect the final cost. Use this checklist to compare packers and movers in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad.
Start with an inventory
List large furniture, appliances, fragile items and the approximate number of boxes. Mention anything that needs disassembly, special handling or stair access. Share photos of bulky items when requesting a quote. An accurate inventory makes different quotes easier to compare.
Ask for a written, itemised quote
Confirm packing, loading, transport, unloading, unpacking, labour, taxes and any toll or parking fees. Ask how charges change if the number of items increases, the vehicle must wait or a lift is unavailable. Clarify the payment schedule and whether a receipt will be issued.
Check the moving day plan
Ask what size vehicle will be used, how many people will arrive and the expected pickup and delivery windows. Check apartment or society rules for lift booking, entry passes and permitted loading hours. Inform the mover about narrow lanes or restricted parking at both addresses.
Protect fragile and valuable items
Ask how glassware, electronics and furniture corners will be packed. Carry important documents, medicines, jewellery, cash and small valuables yourself. Photograph the condition of expensive items before packing and note any existing marks.
Understand damage cover
Do not assume every moving quote includes insurance. Ask whether cover is available, what it includes, exclusions, claim steps and any deductible or maximum amount. Read the written terms before paying for optional protection.
Label and check delivery
Label boxes by room and mark fragile ones. Keep a simple count or inventory sheet. On arrival, count items before the team leaves, inspect furniture and appliances, and record any visible damage on the delivery note. Save the quote, invoice and contact details until everything is unpacked.
