The CNR number is the quickest way to find a district or taluka court matter on the official eCourts service. It is a 16-character alphanumeric identifier printed on case records and should be entered without spaces or hyphens.
Open the official eCourts Services page, enter the CNR, complete the captcha and select Search. The result can show the current status and the recorded case history. Compare the court name, case type, parties and next date with your own papers before treating the result as the correct matter.
If you do not know the CNR, the portal says its Case Status menu also supports searches using options such as the registration number, party name or advocate name. Use enough information to avoid confusing people with similar names.
An online status page is useful for checking, but it is not a substitute for a certified order or legal advice. For filing deadlines, bail, limitation or compliance, confirm the order text and speak with the court registry or a qualified lawyer.
