Before contacting the National Consumer Helpline, put the dispute into a short timeline. Keep the invoice or order confirmation, payment proof, warranty or service terms, delivery record, photographs, chat or email history and every complaint number already given by the business.
On the NCH portal, identify the company, product or service, transaction date, amount and the resolution you want. Upload only relevant files and redact unrelated account or identity details. A precise request—refund, repair, replacement, correction or cancellation—is easier to route than a long narrative without dates.
The Department of Consumer Affairs lists several channels: the web portal, NCH app, UMANG, WhatsApp or SMS at 8800001915, and telephone numbers 1915 or 1800-11-4000. The call service is listed as available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., except national holidays.
NCH is a pre-litigation grievance route, not a court order. Save the docket number, track responses and review the appropriate consumer commission or sector regulator if the dispute remains unresolved.
