Government Launches Pradhan Mantri Vidyalakshmi Yojana 2024: Empowering Students with Affordable Education Loans
In a significant boost for students facing financial constraints, the Central Government has rolled out the Pradhan Mantri Vidyalakshmi Yojana 2024. Aimed at enabling students to pursue higher education in India or abroad, this scheme provides loans of up to ₹65 lakhs at a low-interest rate, making higher education more accessible to students from economically weaker sections.
Approved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this scheme seeks to support students who may be unable to afford their studies due to financial difficulties. Eligible students can apply for education loans ranging from ₹50 lakhs to ₹65 lakhs, with a repayment period of five years, which provides them ample time to manage the repayment after completing their studies. The scheme also helps bridge the gap for talented students who might otherwise discontinue their studies due to financial hardships.
Eligibility and Required Documents
Students who have secured a minimum of 50% marks in their 10th and 12th exams can avail of this loan scheme. In addition to academic eligibility, applicants will need essential documents including an identity proof (Aadhaar card or passport), income certificate, caste certificate if applicable, address proof, and relevant educational certificates.
With support from various banks and financial institutions, the Pradhan Mantri Vidyalakshmi Yojana 2024 is poised to offer a financial lifeline to aspiring students, helping them achieve their educational goals without the burden of financial constraints.
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted.
