India Post reported revenue of ₹8,212.7 crore for April–September 2026, up 24% from the corresponding period a year earlier, the Department of Posts said on 22 October.
The department also said quarterly revenue had exceeded ₹4,000 crore in two consecutive quarters for the first time. Revenue for July–September was ₹4,201.5 crore, representing 25% year-on-year growth.
Parcels were a notable contributor to the growth story. The department reported 71% year-on-year growth in that business vertical and ₹318.9 crore in parcel revenue during the second quarter.
The figures were released after a quarterly business review in New Delhi. They describe the department’s revenue performance; they are not a measure of profit, a delivery-time guarantee or an announcement of revised retail postal charges.
For small businesses comparing dispatch options, the practical decision still depends on the actual service available for the route, its booking conditions and the quoted charge. Check those details for the shipment being sent rather than assuming that stronger national revenue means a particular parcel service has changed.
The half-year figures cover the six months ending September, even though the announcement was made in October.
