An appliance’s purchase price is only one part of the household cost. BEE’s Standards and Labelling programme is intended to help consumers make an informed choice about energy-saving potential.
Begin with the exact model and the size or capacity you need. Keep those details consistent when comparing alternatives; a larger appliance can meet a different requirement even when the front-of-store price looks similar.
Read the energy information on the actual model’s label and consult the official BEE Star Label resources if the seller’s claim is unclear. A promotional image should not replace a readable model label.
Ask for a written quote covering delivery, installation and any required accessories. Keep those costs separate from the label information so you can see what the purchase will actually involve.
Treat any promised electricity-bill saving as a claim to examine. Ask what usage, tariff and comparison model produced the estimate before treating it as a household budget figure.
This checklist does not assign a rating to a product or promise a fixed payback period. Use the current official information for the appliance category, and keep the bill and model details with your warranty record.
