A bank debit and an unclear challan status can be confusing. Preserve both records before attempting another payment.
The official eChallan service provides a Check Pending Transaction facility. Its form uses a challan number or vehicle number, and the page includes payment verification using payment references. Follow the current official interface rather than a link sent by an unknown caller.
Compare the challan number, vehicle details, amount, payment date and transaction reference available in your records. Check whether you are viewing the same challan, particularly if the vehicle has more than one entry.
The service also directs users to the relevant NextGen facility for some challan and receipt checks. Follow links from the official portal itself so that an older bookmarked page does not lead you to the wrong workflow.
Retain any receipt and the result of your status check. If the records disagree, contact the official helpdesk with the references and a concise description.
An interface showing a pending state is not a promise about when a debit will reverse. Avoid repeated payments based only on a message or a caller’s assurance, and do not install an unsolicited file to check a challan.
